Liam Tomlin was born in Dublin, Ireland and started his career as a chef when he was only 14 years old. It was then that he was able to gain some experience in some of the best kitchens that Ireland and Europe have to offer. Liam and his wife Jan moved to Cape Town, South Africa, in 2004 where they established Chefs Warehouse & Cookery school.

His commitment to serving only the best meals and providing his customers with the best service gave him his renowned reputation. He has won a variety of awards, including the Gourmet Traveller Restaurant of the Year award. Liam continues to provide inspiration to the next generation of chefs as he is often invited to take part in local and international promotions and cookery schools around the world, including countries such as Hong Kong, South Africa, Maldives and Spain.

In February 2014, Liam opened Chefs Warehouse & Canteen on 92 Bree Street. The Chefs Warehouse supplies quality cooking equipment, unique food product and cook books. The Canteen is a very relaxed and casual dining space, serving ever changing Tapas for both lunch and dinner.
