Auckland Modrn signals Converse's foray into athleisure

We're all used to the classic Converse Chuck Taylor; they've been an ever-present entity in my life, from my first pair of white All Stars to the most recent Shield Canvas collection. It's an iconic look that Converse has updated to keep up with technology but now with the new Converse Auckland Modrn, Converse has made a departure from the features that make them recognisable (signature flat soles, canvas material, and silver eyelets) and introduced a minimalist athleisure shoe that is both stylish and practical.

There has been a major growth in the athleisure trend with many brands cottoning on. Be #readyformore with the Converse All Star Mondrns; rock them after the gym or on casual Fridays at the office.

Minimal, yet bright (the Lucid Green are my new faves), the Auckland Modrn offers more support and breathable fabric while remaining stylish. I'll be definitely adding them to my sneaker collection for hikes or my weekend urban treks.

Converse has made major efforts to offer more contemporary technology to their classic models, and the Auckland Modrn is no different. The sneaker features new technology while staying true to its original form. The upper is constructed from a breathable mesh and boasts superior durability due to the three-layer Nike Hyperfuse construction. The mid-sole is constructed from Phylon to offer more durability in its support features, and traction grooves line the sole of the shoe to allow the user more flexibility and natural foot motion.

The Converse Auckland Modrn is available in Black, Lucid Green, Red and Soar and will be available from Friday, 30 September at Converse stores. Check out for more info.
